Inviting Monarchs
This story follows two children as they learn about the process of planting milkweed and the lifecycle of monarch butterflies. Aiden wants to help at every stage. Emma, his big sister, comes to learn the importance and fun in doing things together as they watch the milkweed plants grow, the monarch eggs hatch and turn into butterflies, and the adult butterflies fly away to start their migration. Mom and Dad guide this learning adventure for their family.
The Littlest Leaf
In this story, a little leaf sprouts at the top of the tallest tree in the field and can see for miles around. When the season changes to fall and leaves around her start changing colors, the confused and concerned little leaf asks her neighbors what is happening. A wise old leaf tells the story of the seasons and how some trees stay awake (the evergreen across the stream), and others sleep. Their maple tree will slumber and the littlest leaf will safely sleep through winter in the heart of the trunk of their tree. The littlest leaf feels calm knowing she will soon hear her tree call her to slumber for the winter.
Tough Day for Turtle
Aiden and Emma are back in a new adventure saving turtles! They learn about road safety and environmental protections with their parents as they pull over at a turtle crossing sign to help an almost endangered diamondback terrapin turtle cross the road. Other cars stop to talk about Turtle Season, and how people can work together to be patient and supportive of the turtles crossing to find nests.
